Beverly Ann Deininger, age 91, passed away on April 12th, 2023. Born on September 4, 1931, she was the daughter of William and Loretta (Engel) Griewahn. Preceding her in death were her brother, Robert (Nancy Buettner), and sister Janice (Palmer Beebe). Beverly's beloved husband of 63 years, James, passed away on November 15, 2018. Their home for 53 years was at 5563 Clinton Street, Erie. Surviving are her son, David James (Catherine Kulp) and daughter, Ann DeHaven (Jimmy Woodard); also two grandchildren, Matthew (Claire Day) DeHaven and Rachel Deininger, as well as many very dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
A native of Erie, Bev graduated from Academy High School in 1949 and then received a B.S. in Fine Arts from Edinboro College. After college Bev worked in the Erie Schools as a traveling art teacher and worked in her husband Jim's printing business.
Bev loved singing and was involved with many choirs including the Symphonic Singers of Erie, Erie Chamber Singers, St John's Lutheran and Wayside Presbyterian church choirs. Her other interests included woodworking, genealogy, sewing, and homemaking. She loved gardening and her flower gardens were a great source of pleasure to her. She could turn her hand to just about any creative project, had boundless energy, and was never at a loss for something to do.
Beverly kept in touch with family and friends throughout her life, always sending cards on holidays, and she enjoyed keeping in touch with everyone via phone and email. She and her husband will be greatly missed by her children, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private memorial celebration will be held by the family.
