Beverly Suzanne Essary was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024 at the age of 86. She was born to Clark and Pearl Ketling November 18, 1937, in Beaumont, CA. After graduating from high school, Beverly married the love of her life, James D. Essary, Sr., in Indio, CA.
Beverly started her professional career at the University of Oklahoma in 1978 as a secretary in the Training and Development Department. In her 21 years at OU, she earned her Associates degree in: Liberal Arts and worked her way up to Assistant Training Manager.
Beverly was a cherished member of Tecumseh First Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday school, served on the prayer chain, and used her creative abilities to decorate the church with floral arrangements.
In remembering Beverly Suzanne Essary, we celebrate a life lived with compassion, creativity, and an unwavering love for Jesus. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, James D. Essary, Sr., daughters Suzanne Essary and Shar Aweho, and her granddaughter Ashley Zimmerman. Beverly is survived by two children, Carolynne Essary Forbes and Don Essary, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom brought her great joy and happiness in her life.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday July 26, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Sharon Baptist Church with Reverend Clint Dawkins of Sharon Baptist Church, Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Reverend Jeff Robinett of Life Springs Church, Norman, Oklahoma, and Reverend Chad Brodrick officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
