Beverly Louise Ganz Keen

Beverly Louise Ganz Keen, age 95, passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 11, 2025, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Born on January 25, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio, Beverly was the daughter of A.E. Ganz and Helen Sacket Ganz. She spent her early years growing up on the family farm in New London, Ohio. She graduated from New London High School in 1948, and enrolled at Bowling Green State University for a short time before relocating to Ft. Pierce, Florida in 1952. In 1959, she married Robert Jackson “Snookie” Keen, a member of a pioneer family with deep roots in St. Lucie County, and together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and community. Beverly and her family moved to White City in 1964 where she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Home Room Mom at White City Elementary School.

Beverly was a devoted mother to Bradley Robert Keen (Pam) and Lisa Michele Keen (Norm); cherished grandmother to Robert Jackson Keen II (Skyler), Michael Steven Keen (Savanna), Chelsea Marie Keen Mathis (Fred), Riley Christian Harkins, and Evan Jackson Harkins; and loving great-grandmother to Shayna, Landon, Avery, Karolina, Alison, Malachi, Ezekiel, Levi, Ezra, Noah, Kaleb, Judah, and Genesis.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Robert Jackson Keen; her parents, A.E. and Helen Ganz; her brothers Roland, Edward, and Royce Ganz; and her great-grandson Kaleb Keen. She is also survived by her brother-in-law David Keen (Joy), sister-in-law Martha McManus, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Beverly dedicated much of her life to public service in the legal field. She worked for many years as a legal secretary in Ft. Pierce and Vero Beach while also raising her family. Demonstrating her remarkable perseverance and determination, she earned her Associate of Arts degree from Indian River Community College while working full-time. She retired with distinction as secretary to United States District Court Judge G. Kendall Sharp and was highly respected by the many attorneys and judges with whom she worked.

A lifelong Methodist, Beverly was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Ft. Pierce. She volunteered extensively, particularly in the church office, where she formed lifelong friendships and shared her gifts in service to others.

Beverly loved to travel, read, watch Atlanta Braves baseball, and cheer for The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Florida Gators. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her family, who were the center of her world.

The family wishes to acknowledge Ms. Alice Paul and the loving staff of Sunshine Family Assisted Living Facility for the love, excellent care, and devotion to Beverly in the last years of her life. The family is also forever grateful to the doctors and nurses of Treasure Coast Hospice, who made her transition to what lies beyond in a most peaceful way.

Pall Bearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons: Robert Keen, Michael Keen, Riley Harkins, Jack Harkins, Landon Keen and Malachi Keen.

The family kindly requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Church (Methodist) in Ft. Pierce and/or Treasure Coast Hospice.

Arrangements are being provided by Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service in Ft. Pierce, Florida. A viewing for family and friends will be held Monday, June 16th, at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Road in Ft. Pierce, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Services will be held Tuesday, June 17th at 11:00 AM at First Church Ft. Pierce, with a private graveside service to follow at White City Cemetery.

Her legacy of grace, strength, and unwavering faith will live on in all who knew and loved her.
