Beverly "Bev" C. Gerke, 93 of Tomah passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 surrounded by her family at the Serenity House Tomah. She was born on September 22, 1931 to Lawrence and Vivian (Butterfield) Burnstad in Tomah. She attended school in Tomah and was a member of the Tomah High School Graduating Class of 1949. Bev was united in marriage to John Hubert to which four children were born. On February 20, 1970, she was united in marriage to Ronald R. Gerke. They had a son, Randy. Bev worked for the Tomah Memorial Hospital as well as the Tomah VA each for several years as a certified nursing assistant. She also worked for Burnstad's for many years in the Floral Department. Bev enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was an excellent cook. Bev was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she will always be remembered for her quick wit, and her caring and sweet personality. Bev was confirmed into the Lutheran Faith on December 6, 1971 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomah. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. Bev was a member of the adult choir for over 35 years, regularly attended Bible Classes, was a member of the St. Paul's Altar Guild and the Rachel Mission Circle. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by children Randy Gerke, Mary Jo (Mel) Schroeder, Lynn Adrian, Michael (Debbie) Hubert, Pat (the late Dewey) Wagner, grandchildren, Todd (Linda) Schroeder, Nikki (Jeff) Helm, Kari (Brad) Carden, Brooke Blaser, Mya (Jim)Rognstad, Justin Hubert, Cody (Angela) Wagner, Ethan (Jordyn) Gerke, Kendall Gerke, great-grandchildren, Elise Schroeder, Payton Schroeder, Dylan Carden, Kendall Hazen, Alivia Rognstad, Emerson and Aubrie Hubert, Evan and Trent Blaser, a brother, Gary Burnstad.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, a son-in-law Dewey Wagner, a grandson Keith Adrian, her parents and grandparents, a brother, Larry Burnstad, a sister and brother in law, Gloria and Tom Nowak and other relatives.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave., Tomah. Pastor Mark Kahrs will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Wednesday July 30, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E.
