Beverly Giannetti

September 6, 1937 - January 3, 2026

Beverly Giannetti, a longtime resident of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at the age of 88.

She was the beloved wife of George Giannetti for 69 years, devoted mother to Marc (Donna) Giannetti and Vanda (George) Smith, and cherished grandmother to five grandchildren: Matthew (Nicole) Giannetti, Steven (Michelle) Giannetti, Eric (Sarah) Giannetti, Danielle (Blake) Wallace, and George (Ana Maria) Smith. Beverly was also a proud great-grandmother to Maisie, Daphne, Lilliana, Giovanni, and Adriano.

She is survived by her sister, Gladys Carbone, and many loving nieces and nephews. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, David and Rose Szalma; sisters Diane Szalma and Rosemary Mitchell; and her husband, George.

Beverly found joy in caring for others, especially her children and grandchildren. She was an active mother and grandmother, always offering support-often through her love of cooking and baking. She delighted in making cakes, pies, cinnamon rolls, and cookies from scratch using her mother's recipes. Many of her happiest moments were spent at the family cottage in Northern Michigan, surrounded by loved ones.

She served as a Girl Scout Troop leader and later in life worked as an aide to disabled children in the Oak Park School District, providing warmth and compassion until retiring to spend more time with her grandchildren.

Beverly will be remembered for her gentle humor, unwavering generosity, and deep devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in all who knew her.

Memorial Service

A celebration of Beverly's life will be held on Saturday, January 17, with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and a memorial mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Sterling Heights. Following the service, family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Italian Cultural Center, 3843 Romeo Plank Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038.

In honor of Beverly's memory, the family kindly asks that donations be made to, Children's Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) - Michigan Department of Health, an organization dedicated to supporting children with disabilities and their families-a cause close to Beverly's heart.
