Ralph Johnston

Ralph Johnston, a longtime resident of Macomb, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on February 11. He was born on October 1, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to Eva Johnston and Ralph Johnston.

Ralph was the beloved husband of Carolyn E. Johnston, whom he married on March 31, 1979, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Roseville, Michigan. Together they built a life centered on family, dedication, and quiet strength.

He was the loving father of Ralph (Renee) Johnston of Macomb, Ken (Rhonda) Johnston of Chesterfield, Coleen Johnston of Roseville, Kimberly Engel of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Jeffrey (Charlene) Engel of Metamora. Ralph was a proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.

Ralph was a skilled and hardworking pattern maker by trade. After earning his high school diploma, he completed an apprenticeship in pattern making and went on to build a long and respected career in the field before retiring. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and the honest work of his hands.

He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his steady presence, and the kindness he showed to those around him. Ralph's legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and in the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (three blocks east of Van Dyke), Utica, Michigan, on Sunday, February 15, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday February 16, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 45160 Van Dyke Ave, Utica, MI 48317, (at the corner of Van dyke and Hall Road) with visitation starting at 10 a.m.
