Eldon Kukuk Obituary
Eldon was born on June 16, 1937 in Mount Clemens, Michigan to August and Gertrude (Schramm) Kukuk. He graduated from New Haven High School in 1955 and began working for Detroit Edison as a tree clearance investigator until he retired in his early 60's. On June 11, 1960, he married Donna J. Hintz in Fraser, Michigan and they shared many wonderful years together before her passing in 2021. Eldon was a life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Macomb Township and a founding member of the Macomb Township Lions. After the Macomb Township Lions dissolved, he joined the Washington Township Lions and made sure to make every meeting. Eldon enjoyed traveling to Florida in the winter months with Donna and watching the Tigers during spring training. He never missed spending time with his family and a nice cold Bud Light. Eldon was loved by many and he will be greatly missed.
Eldon is survived by his daughters, Kimberly McCoy and Roxanne Thatcher; grandchildren, Merissa (Daniel) Baez, Brittany (Alex) Melendez and Colten Thatcher; great-grandchildren, Kyler Baez, Benette Melendez, Jensen Baez, Thea Melendez and Estelle Melendez; sister, Joyce Kraatz; sisters-in-laws, Lois (Kenneth) Whipple and Lucy (Ron) Glefke; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Eldon was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; brothers, Larry (Judy) Kukuk and Roger Kukuk; and brother-in-law, Milton Kraatz.
The visitation for Eldon will take place on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with 10:00 a.m. instate time at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 17051 24 Mile Road, Macomb. Private burial for the immediate family will take place following the funeral service in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Macomb.
Memorial tributes would be appreciated to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Leader Dogs for the Blind in lieu of flowers.
