Beverly "Nanny" Gillespie

Beverly "Nanny" Gillespie, age 87, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026. She was born June 1, 1938, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Matt Messer and Eve Mae (Woods) Messer.

Beverly dedicated over 20 years of her life to working in home health care, where her natural kindness and compassion touched the lives of many. She was truly a caregiver at heartalways putting others before herself. Known lovingly as "Nanny" to her family, she cherished every moment spent with them and created a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter. She had a special talent for baking and cooking, and her meals brought comfort and joy to all who gathered around her table.

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Kim (Marty) Goranson; grandchildren, Andre Simpson Jr., Jeremy (Tristin) Gillespie, and Sara Simpson; great-grandchildren, Zach (Hayley) Gillespie, Maddie Gillespie, Andre William "Willie" Simpson, Stormie Simpson, Keiland McClain, and Jaxson Simpson; great-great-grandchildren, Ivy Simpson and Iris Lawson; her sister, Jeanette (Lu) Swartz; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Clyde "Bill" Gillespie; her daughter, Kathleen Simpson; her parents; and several siblings.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45005. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Benge officiating. Beverly will be laid to rest at Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein Hospice in Beverly's memory.
