Beverly A. Hines, 87, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Alternative Senior Living in Hibbing, MN. She was born August 28, 1938, to Lucille and Edward (Stuneck) Kruchoski in Hibbing, MN. Beverly grew up in Keewatin, MN. After graduating from Keewatin High School, she earned a bachelor's degree from Bemidji State University. Beverly married Michel Hines on June 28, 1963, at Grace Lutheran Church. She began her teaching career in Hibbing in 1959 and taught there for 10 years with 1st, 2nd grade, and Special Education. She then joined the Chisholm school district and taught kindergarten for 27 years, retiring in 1996.
Beverly was the founder and past president of the Elk’s Ladies Klub. She was a proud member of First Lutheran Church in Hibbing, where she was a past Sunday school Assistant Superintendent. She was the CHERUB Choir Director, served on the council and sang in the church choir. She also was a member of the Buck Lake Improvement Club.
Beverly enjoyed spending summers at the lake, curling, bowling, various bridge clubs, attending Elk’s conventions with her husband, and girls’ sleepovers at the cabin.
She is survived by her children, Kim Hines, Woodbury, MN, Dana (Bill) Kearney, Hibbing, MN, Michel (David Grout) Hines, Chicago, IL, and Kristin (Rob) Silas, Des Moines, IA, 7 grandchildren, Kara (Clint) Firstbrook, Jacob (Shelly) Donahue, Erik Trevena, Ryan Trevena, Jack (Hannah Thul) Kearney, Brady (Danielle) Silas, and Alayna Silas, 6 great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Charlie, Amelia, Addison, Ava, and Rosaline, her siblings, Eldon (Sharon Monroe) Kruchoski, Elaine (Charlie) Vezina, and Gwen (Larry) Enfield, along with her nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Michel Hines, granddaughter, Alexa Hines, sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Ollie Iverson, and her dear friend, Joyce Fryklund.
Funeral services for Beverly will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 29, 2025, at First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Rev. John Dietz will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Beverly’s family would like to send a sincere thank you to the Lustila family and staff, and Fairview Range Hospice for the exceptional care that she received during her stay at Alternative Senior Living. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
