Beverly Jean Hunt, 72, of Holden Road, Addison, NY, passed away at home on Monday, November 10, 2025 in the presence of her loving family.
Bev was born on March 22, 1953 in Blossburg, PA to the late Gerald Clayton Vargeson and Cora E. Stafford Vargeson. She attended Elkland High School.
She married Stanley Hunt on November 27, 1992 at their home in Addison. Bev was employed for over 25 years at the Ingersoll Rand Co. and later Dresser Rand in Painted Post. She was an avid gambler, spending time at the casino, entering raffles or scratch off lottery tickets but especially enjoyed playing bingo. She was always eager to share any winnings that she had won. Bev loved to travel, traveling often to Arizona and Florida. She even traveled to Africa with Stan on hunting trips where, with her keen eye, she was his game spotter. She was a life member of the Woodhull Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Bev is survived by her husband, Stanley Hunt at home, her daughters, Carrie Vargeson of Addison and Heather and husband Josh Price of Big Flats, her son, Tom Hunt of Addison, grandchildren, Vincent Bock, Corey Bock, Jasen Bock, Elijah Hunt, Darian (Alex) Raupers, Dawsan (Megan) Coykendall and Emma Burnside, 11 great grandchildren, brothers, Jerry Vargeson of Jamestown, NY, David (Joanne) Vargeson of Lawrenceville, Glenn (Brenda) Vargeson of Osceola, Steven (Lisa) Vargeson of Middlebury Center, Timothy (Dawn) Vargeson of Addison and Clayton (Ann) Vargeson of Corning, sisters, Gwendolyn Crawford of Louisville, KY, Sherry McCaslin of North Carolina, Elsie McFall of Painted Post, Patricia (Rick) Herrington of Addison and Marjorie Pavlick (Cal Eccleston) of Addison along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Clayton Vargeson and Cora Vargeson Reigle, by her grandson, Brennan Foster and her mother-in-law, Alice Hunt.
Friends may call on Thursday, November 13 from 4 to 7 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 18 at 11 am in Woodhull Cemetery.
