Beverly Ann (Stearns) Johnson was born on August 26, 1929, in Yakima, WA, and passed away on March 25, 2023, at 93, while in hospice care at the Heritage House in Buckley, WA. She grew up on the family farm in Kent, WA, with her late parents, Paul and Edna Stearns. Beverly attended the old Meridian High School, where she actively participated in several school activities and was a cheerleader. She married her high school classmate, the late Byron Johnson, and they had a small farm and home that he built himself.
In 1962, Beverly and Byron moved to Enumclaw with their three sons, establishing a larger 20-acre farm and raising various livestock. Beverly always had a garden and enjoyed growing flowers while spending most of her free time outdoors. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting with her family, with memorable trips to the mountains or eastern Washington and the ocean for clam digging trips.
Beverly worked for ROHR Aircraft in Auburn for ten years, and after Byron retired from the Railroad, they started a Christmas Tree farm (Ache N' Acres) on their 20-acre property, which they ran for 15 years. Most of Beverly's life was spent in Enumclaw, where she and Byron spent their retirement in town until their passing. Beverly cherished life and her family and enjoyed gathering with old friends from high school each year.
Beverly is survived by her remaining two sons, Timothy "Tim" (Christine "Chris") Johnson of Enumclaw and Theodore "Ted" (Rev. Derrick) of Mesa, AZ, a daughter-in-law Shirley Johnson of Enumclaw, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son Thomas "Tom" Johnson, husband Byron, infant twin sons, parents Paul and Edna Stearns, and her brother Calvin Stearns.
In lieu of flowers or cards, please consider a memorial donation in her name to Desert Heritage Church, 1020 N Horne St., Mesa, AZ 85203, or through Givelify online at https://giv.li/1ycbls.
