Beverly Sue Koehler

Beverly Sue (Zinn) Koehler passed from this life into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ at Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home on May 29, 2023 at 6:06 pm with her family by her side.

Bev was born on October 5, 1933 to Bernice and J.D. Zinn in Amarillo, Texas. Near the end of her high school years, she moved to La Rose, IL to care for her aunt and uncle in their home. While working for the phone company, she met Richard Koehler. They were married on November 10, 1951. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2000.

She is survived by her children: Jill (Rod) Schertz of Metamora, Mae (John) Janssen of Ransom, Laura (Dick) Moritz of Minonk, Randy (Lucy) Koehler of Benson and Robin (John) Roberts of Roanoke; Sisters: Norma (Loren) Schumacher, Jackie (Don) Barnes and Diane Paulsen; Sisters in law: Ruth Jebe, Millie Koehler and Bonnie Koehler. She was very proud of her 18 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Ricky Dale Koehler, her parents, and one sister, Sharon White.

Bev was a homemaker who raised her kids with Christian values. She loved spending time with her family.

Burial will be in Clayton Township Cemetery on June 30, 2023 at 3:00. Her grandson, Pastor Randall Koehler, will officiate at a celebration of life held at Benson Legion at approximately 3:30. Per Mom's request, Bernardi's will be catering a dinner after the service.

Memorials in Bev's name can be made to Benson Ambulance or Benson fire department.

A special thanks to the staff of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home for the great care given to our mom throughout the past year. Think of her when you eat candy or chew bubble gum. She would love it.
