Beverly Ann McGraw

Beverly Ann Francis Elizabeth McGraw, 87 passed away peacefully on April 19, 2023 in her home in Phoenix, AZ. She was born in Madison, WI on January 26, 1936 to proud parents Lloyd and Dorothy McGraw. Beverly attended Edgewood High School and received her Bachelor's from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Beverly's appreciation for education didn't end there. She traveled to Paris, France and obtained her Master's in French. She then became a French Professor at William and Mary in Williamsburg Virginia, where she lived with Ismail and Sara.
Beverly spent her later years in Sun City and Scottsdale Arizona with her daughter.
Throughout her life, Beverly was well traveled and cultured. She had many friends from all walks of life and many corners of the World. She loved to learn about different cultures, foods, and languages. Her adventures included various parts of Africa (Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and Sudan), as well as a great portion of the United States and Europe. She had a great passion for nature, known to stop on the side of the interstate to appreciate the landscape, plants, and rocks.
As a devoted lifelong Catholic, she poured herself into her faith, family, friendships, and service for others.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Ismail Abdalla and their daughter, Sara McGraw-Abdalla. She is also survived by her cousin Louella in Florida, cousin Mary and their daughters in Waunakee, WI.
A celebration of life is scheduled to take place at the Faithbuilders Church on May 1, 2023 at 5:30 PM. Her burial will take place at the Resurrection Catholic Ceremony in Madison, WI on May 4, 2023 at 1 pm. She will be laid to rest alongside her loving parents.
