BEVERLY V. MERRITT, daughter of John and Opal (Sprouse) Boulware was born October 18, 1926, in Duncan, Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Kissimmee, Florida, on September 13, 2025, at the age of ninety-eight years.

During WWII, Beverly worked at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard as a forklift driver, where she met the love of her life and soul mate, George Merritt. On February 2, 1946, Beverly and George married and began their long loving family life together. During their seventy-nine married years, they shared so much love, laughter and memories, while raising their two daughters.

Beverly was an accomplished musician playing many instruments, including guitar, saxophone, accordion, piano and organ. She was sought to play in many events, but always made sure she was on the organ bench for every church service.

Beverly was an extremely talented tailor with her own tailor shop. There was nothing she wouldn't tackle, design, repair or sew and do it beautifully.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers; one son-in-law, Jim Dorris; and two grandsons, Bo Dorris and Vincent DeVos.

She leaves behind two daughters, Marilyn McIntyre and her husband William and Carolyn Dorris; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and countless dear friends.

Beverly was the best wife. She was an awesome mother and caring grandmother. She was such a blessing to those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. She will be greatly missed until the promise of Heaven allows us to all be together again.
