Beverly J. Ore
Virginia - Beverly J. Ore, 93, of Virginia, Illinois, died September 20, 2025, at Cass County Senior Living & Rehab, LLC Virginia.
She was born February 2, 1932, in Newmansville Township, Cass County, the daughter of Orville "Duffy" and Louise Sophia (Hillen) Murphy. She married her high school sweetheart H. Edward Ore on June 18, 1950, at the Christian Church in Virginia, and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2013.
She is survived by three children, Fred (Debra) Ore of Beardstown, Linda (Tom) Damotte of Virginia, and Jim Ore of Virginia; grandchildren John Carl Wubker; Megan Marie Ore; Jason Ore, Cassie (Dan) Stewart, Jeffrey Ore, Anna (Ryan) Haymen, John Ore, Katie Ore, Brittney (Neilson) Jones, Tessa (Jacob) Beaupre, Kya Ore, Olivia and Ysabel Herrera; sixteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Murphy; and very special nieces and nephews, Judy Atkins, Kathy Stoller, Marcy Fielden, Teresa Murphy, Randy Murphy, Mike Doyle, and Josh Doyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Shirley Fielden; and two sisters-in-law, Ethel Ore Doyle and Sharon Murphy.
Beverly was a graduate of Chandlerville High School and was a devoted farm wife and mother. She worked many different jobs, to name a few, Capps Factory, McCausland's IGA, H.A. Snow D.D.S. receptionist, Cass County Abstract, State of Illinois–Revenue Accounting, Sohrigo Service Co., and retired from Bluffs Springs Farmers Co-op in 1994. She was a member of Disciples of Christ Christian Church. She loved camping, traveling and listening to Bluegrass with her husband. She was gratefully blessed with many wonderful friends and family! One life-long friend, Blanche Ohrn, through thick and thin, always remained her best friend!
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial gifts are suggested to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice,
American Cancer Society, or to the
