FAIR HAVEN-Beverly J. Parker, 89 of Fair Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 14, 2025 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, and her sense of humor could light up any room. She loved her family fiercely and cherished every moment spent with them. Family gatherings and trips to the snack bar were among her favorite pastimes, always bringing her so much joy. Beverly also had a deep love for her cats and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafting, yard sales, sewing, playing Rummy and refinishing furniture.
She was born on January 13, 1936, in Ogdensburg, NY, the daughter of the late William Henry and Lena (Austin) Whitworth.
Beverly was raised in Springfield, Vermont, and moved to Fair Haven in 1950 as a freshman to attend high school. She graduated from Fair Haven High School in 1954 and went on to complete her studies at Rutland Business College in 1955.
She married Donald F. Parker on August 13, 1955.
Beverly held a variety of different jobs throughout her life. She began by cleaning various places and babysitting for families in the community. After graduating from Rutland Business College, she worked in the toy department at the Fashion Shop and later as a clerk at Wilson Grace, a clothing store in Fair Haven. She went on to serve as a secretary and bookkeeper at Boughton Oil and worked as a clerk at the Fair Haven Factory Outlet. Of all her roles, her favorite job was taking care of her grandchildren.
Beverly was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Fair Haven.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Barker and her husband Carl of Castleton, and Carol Moss and her husband Lee of Fair Haven; a son, Donald F. Parker Jr. and his wife Flo Dawson of Worcester; three grandchildren, Courtney Parker and her husband Jeff Hackett of West Rutland, Samantha Barker, and Andrew Barker of Castleton; grandson-in-law AJ LaRose of Middlebury; and two great-grandchildren, Adam LaRose and Liam LaRose. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald on January 1, 2015; her granddaughter Carrie LaRose on December 4, 2020; her sister Virginia Atwood; and two brothers, Bill Whitworth and Wayne Whitworth.
There will be no public calling hours.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 24, at the Castleton Federated Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
