NORTH LIMA — Beverly Ann (Thomas) Scott passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, March 10, 2026. She was 83.
Beverly was born April 20, 1942, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Guy and Mary Nestor Thomas. She graduated from Hubbard High School in 1960 and remained closely connected to the community she loved throughout her life. In the 1960s, Beverly worked in Washington, D.C., as a secretary for the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon. She later returned to the area and on April 12, 1969, Beverly married Robert Scott.
A woman of strong faith and service, Beverly was a devoted member of Coalburg United Methodist Church, where she also served as church secretary. Her faith guided much of her life, and she enjoyed singing in the church choir and participating in church activities. She was also active in Hubbard C.I.A. (Christians in Action) and generously volunteered her time with The Salvation Army. She also served as secretary for Hubbard First Presbyterian Church.
Beverly loved playing bridge and was a longtime member of a bridge club, sharing many enjoyable hours with friends. Although she spent most of her life in Hubbard, she and her husband Bob also enjoyed 12 years living in Winter Haven Florida.
She is survived by her son, James (Sheila) Scott of Cabot, Arkansas; her daughter, Patricia (Larry) Pennington of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; and her daughter-in-law, Lisa Scott of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia (Richard) Tate of Hubbard; her sister-in-law, Cathy Thomas of Newton Falls; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents Guy and Mary; her brother, George Thomas; her sister, Jacqueline Thomas; and her son, Michael Scott.
Memorial services will be held Monday, March 16, 2026 at Coalburg United Methodist Church in Hubbard, beginning with calling hours at 10:00 a.m. followed by services at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Beverly’s memory to Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick-Campbell Rd., Hubbard, OH 44425.
