Born July 23, 1941, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Mary (Brewer) Needs. Bev graduated from Dover High School in 1960, and went on to attend Moravian College, now Moravian University, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. On April 6, 1963, Bev wed W. Bev was a faithful member of Dover First Moravian Church, and very much enjoyed volunteering at summer church camps at Tar Hollow State Park in Laurelville. She was also a member of Tuscarawas Chapter 164 Order of the Eastern Star.
Bev will be dearly missed by her husband, Larry; her children, Kenney Sears of Bolivar, Roger (Jane Ann) Sears of Sugarcreek, and Lorna (Shane) Ross of Ashland; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Brenda) Sears of Pinson, Tennessee, Sarah (Ryan) Chapman of Waverly, New York, John and Andrew Sears of Sugarcreek, Delaney and Mitchell Ross of Ashland, and Samantha Natoli of Cadiz; her brother, Bill (Sara) Needs of Marietta, Georgia; the daughter of her heart, Lisa (Brent) Pampe of Claremont, Illinois; her sisters-in-law, Darlene Sears of Bolivar, Lenore Herron of New Philadelphia, Marylee Sears of Mineral City, and Shirley Ball of Somerdale; and her many nieces and nephews.
Bev’s life will be celebrated Saturday, October 19, at 11 a.m., in Dover First Moravian Church; Rev. Denny Rohn will officiate. There will be a luncheon in the church directly afterward. Instead of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Bev’s memory be made to Dover First Moravian Church, 319 N. Walnut St., Dover, Ohio 44622.
