Beverly Ann Sohr, 86, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Pine Haven Christian Communities – Giddings Avenue.
Bev was born to Gilbert and Veronica (Reedy) Mathis on April 25, 1937, in Brown County. She graduated from Denmark High School in 1955. Bev went on to St. Vincent Hospital in Chicago to study pediatric nursing. After graduating, she continued her nursing career at a Green Bay hospital.
Bev was united in marriage to Wayne Sohr on June 21, 1958, at All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark. Bev stayed home to raise her two children before going to work part-time at Bemis Manufacturing. Later, she worked at Bemis full-time until retirement after 30 years.
In her retirement years, she loved baking and gardening. Over the years, she volunteered serving meals at the Senior Center in Sheboygan Falls and enjoyed going to lunch with fellow Bemis retirees. Bev enjoyed celebrating her sister’s birthdays at Oneida Casino each year. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Bev is survived by her son, Tom (Roxann) Sohr of Sheboygan; grandchildren, Christopher, Benjamin, and Meghan Sohr, Dakota and Erica (fiancé Tyler Wilson) Manier; great-granddaughter, Mabel Wilson. She is further survived by her sisters, Janice Dobratz of Brookfield, Virginia Lemmens of Denmark; sister-in-law, Roberta Sohr of Oshkosh; niece, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Linda (Thomas) Manier; parents; sister, Mary Mathis; brothers-in-law, Harold Dobratz and Charles Sohr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Parish on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 11:00am. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Peace at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at church from 10:00am until the time of mass.
