Beverly Joan Stevens
Beverly Stevens, 94, born in DC and a longtime Maryland resident, passed away peacefully in her home on March 25, 2022. Beverly was a much-loved personality, whose warmth and thoughtfulness ran deep and touched many. She always had a smile on her face, a kind word to share and she left an impression on everyone she met. She enjoyed a long career as a personnel specialist for NOAA, and spent numerous years active in the Montgomery County PTA. Over the years, Beverly actively planned and organized many of her class reunions and gatherings from Roosevelt High School in DC, which allowed her to keep in close contact with many of her classmates and long-time friends. During retirement she kept busy traveling, serving in various volunteer roles in her community of Leisure World, taking continuing education classes, reading, and spending time with family. Over the past 18 months, she taught just about everyone that spent time with her the game of Rummikub; a game where she was more likely to win than not, as well as makeup rules as you went along. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 42 years, Eugene Stevens, III, who died in 2013. They were deeply devoted to each other and enjoyed many years together traveling to many beautiful destinations. Beverly is survived by her son David Sager (Natalie) of Laurel, MD; Barry Sager of Tallahassee, FL; Steven Sager (Sabina) of Durham, NC, and Eugene Stevens, IV (Mary Eileen) of Wheaton, MD. Beverly (Nana) is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and many close friends. She will be missed but not forgotten. A graveside ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM, at Parklawn Memorial Park, at 12800 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD 20853 in the Menorah Gardens section.
