Beverly Stoddard

Beverly Stoddard, 85, of Norwich, CT, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025. Born on October 22, 1939, in Taftville, CT, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Nellie Jennie (Taylor) Stoddard.
Beverly was a lifelong resident of Norwich, where she dedicated much of her time to her family and community. She worked at the City of Norwich, Mr. Big's, and later retired from New London County Mutual Insurance Company. Beverly had a deep passion for travel, often sharing adventures with her sister, Nancy, and enjoyed her time with her senior citizen clubs.
Her love for animals was evident in her devoted care for her two beloved cats Snowball and Sasha, who brought her great joy and companionship over the years.
Beverly also treasured the many family trips spent at Gardners Lake, a place where she created lasting memories with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. These trips were an important part of her life, and she loved the time spent surrounded by family and the beauty of nature.
She was a loving mother to her daughter, Cyndi Young of Norwich, and son, Jeffrey Stoddard and his wife Heather. Beverly was also a proud grandmother to Andrew Young, married to Maureen; Kelsey Young, Summer Stoddard, and Mason Stoddard. She also cherished the role of great-grandmother to Meadow Grace Faulise.
Beverly is survived by her two beloved sisters, Nancy Caouette and Dorothy Morin, and her husband, Denis. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and dear lifelong friends, Rhoda Kaplan and Diane Brehler, who were an important part of her life.
The family respectfully requests no calling hours. A celebration of Beverly's life will be held on May 17, 2025 at The First Congregational Church in Norwichtown at 10 am, immediately followed by a gathering at the Hampton Fire Department. Directions will be provided.
Beverly's warm heart, joyful spirit, and love for her family, friends, and animals will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory can do so through Ross Adult Day Center located in Norwich, CT
