Leon C. Konikowski

Norwich - Leon C. Konikowski, a lifelong resident of Norwich, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on January 7, 2026. He was 70 years old.
Born on April 13, Leon was predeceased by his parents and is survived by a close circle of friends who were, in every meaningful way, his family. He was known for his loyalty, kindness, and unwavering support of those he cared about.
Leon graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1973 and went on to study at the University of Connecticut. He built a long and respected career in information technology, beginning as a programmer and later specializing in server and system administration. Over the years, he dedicated much of his professional life to supporting corporate email systems, a role that reflected both his technical expertise and his quiet reliability.
Leon spent many years employed by General Dynamics – Data Systems Division, followed by Computer Science Corporation (CSC), where he was valued for his knowledge, work ethic, and steady presence. Colleagues remember him as someone you could always count on.
Outside of work, Leon found joy in simple pleasures. He was a lifelong fan of Looney Tunes, had a fondness for sweet treats, and rarely passed up a good breakfast. He especially enjoyed visiting local VFW clubs-not just for the meals, but because he believed strongly in supporting the organizations and the communities they serve.
Above all else, Leon was loyal beyond measure. He showed up for his friends consistently and without hesitation, offering help, humor, and companionship. His absence will be deeply felt by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 5PM - 7PM at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Avenue, Norwich. A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11AM at St. Joseph Cemetery, 815 Boswell Avenue, Norwich.
