Beverly A. Traver, age 85, of Greencastle, PA, entered into heaven on Monday, January 19, 2026, at her home. Born in Evans Falls, PA on May 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Marguerite Hayner Cook. She was proceeded in death by one great-granddaughter, Callie Traver.
Mrs. Traver worked as a secretary for Nationwide Insurance Agency(formerly Don McClure and then under Bill Etter) in Chambersburg for over 30 years. She attended Grace Bible Church in Greencastle and was a member of the former Greencastle-Antrim Lioness Club. She enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family, extended family, and friends. She enjoyed shopping, and especially socializing.
Surviving is her husband of 70 years, Seldon L. Traver, whom she married on October 15, 1955, three children, Francis Traver (wife Diana) of Greencastle, PA, Rick Traver (wife Teresa) of Greencastle, PA, and Dawn Johns (husband Terry) of Emmittsburg, MD; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John M. Cook of Tunkhannock, PA, and special extended family, Donna DePue, Joe Ray, and Bevie Meyers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 11 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastors Herm Fisler and Nathan Hykes will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, at www.cancer.org or the American Diabetes Association, at www.diabetes.org.
