Heaven received another angel on July 31, 2023. Beverly Jean Hansen Reddick Wenzel passed away at the Wausau Aspirus Hospital after a short illness at the age of 93.
Beverly was born on August 3, 1929, in Stanley, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jacob Hansen and Clara Petrina Hillestad Hansen. She was born a strong, proud Norwegian. She attended Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids where she proudly called home for 93 years. Beverly had three sisters, Carol Mae Hansen, Arlene Wallace, and Delores Pameticky; she also had one brother Jack Hansen. They all preceded her in death.
Beverly married Alfred Marion Reddick in September 1945. She had the privilege of raising his two young daughters, Marilyn Harrah, (deceased) and Sandra Siewert, (deceased). Beverly and Alfred went on to have three children together, Barbara (John) Lusk, Lynda (Scott) Chapman and Shelby (Maurice) Branzanti. Alfred died at a young age and Beverly raised their children.
Beverly married Willard Henry Wenzel in October 1965. They had a son together, Jon (Danielle) Hansen Wenzel. She inherited two stepchildren upon her marriage to Bill, Bruce Wenzel and Diane Niese.
After Bill died, Beverly had a special relationship with Bud Pitz. They enjoyed dancing and traveling. She developed a close relationship with his family.
Beverly loved life-traveling, celebrating her birthday at the family cabin, cookouts, dining out, gambling, hunting, fishing, and the annual "Love-in" with her cousins. She had a special respect for nature and instilled that in her family. She found beauty in her life every day. Beverly helped people appreciate the special families that they had.
Beverly was active in the Two-Mile Garden Club, serving as president for a few years; she was the volunteer chair for the Wisconsin Rapids March of Dimes. Beverly also dabbled in rental properties for many years and enjoyed the children when she drove school bus.
Beverly is survived by three children, Barbara, Lynda and Jon. She was preceded in death by her daughter Shelby. She dearly loved her many grandchildren, Jennifer (Jim) Wilson, Wendy Siewert, Cindy (Mick) Loiseau, Stacy (Mike) Stanke, Kent (Patricia) Siewert, Rebecca (Brian) Dombrowicki, Shawna (Denton) Lusk, Shawn (Melissa Vogler) Reimer, Jack Wenzel, Christian Smith, Bennet Smith, LaNell (Jim Sybedahl) Nugent, Liane (Dave) Guthrie, Ryan Niese, Nathan Wenzel and Katie (Justin) Peters. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren Clay Siewert, Forrest Siewert and Sandra Schmidt. Beverly had many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren that are too numerous to mention. They dearly loved their "Grandma B", and she cherished that name. She had a special place in her heart for her many grands and great grands. She also enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. Beverly was a fun, brave and unique woman with a zest for life and a sense of adventure. One of the things we always say is "What would Grandma B do?"
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the church. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery. A luncheon will be served following the graveside service at the church.
A special thank you to the amazing staff at Hilltop Grand Village. A more caring and loving staff would be difficult to find.
Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Bev was a very special person. She always knew how to make someone feel good. I always felt very welcomed when I would visit her in Wisconsin Rapids. It was a real
privilege to have met Bev and
she would always make you feel comfortable whether you were taking a long walk or
eating at a neighborhood restaurant or at a supper club
with her. Enjoyed her family stories, too. She will be missed. Bev, may you Rest in Peace.
