Attica - Beverly A. West, 89, of Attica passed away on Friday (January 16, 2026) at Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing in Houghton.
Mrs. West was born June 28. 1936 in Warsaw, a daughter of the late Walter and Marian (Spring) Trifthauser.
Beverly was a long time member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Attica where she was active in the church choir and women's fellowship. She was a long time elementary teacher in Kenmore and Batavia City Schools, retiring from John Kennedy in Batavia. She volunteered at Stevens Memorial Library in Attica, helping children in the literacy program; and taught pre-school children at St. Paul's nursery school.
Bev enjoyed going to garage sales, was a gifted artist, and a great cook.
Surviving are her children, Michael (Mary) West of Perry; Timothy (Lynn) West of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, and Becki (James) Jacobs of Wilmington, North Carolina; grandchildren, Lauren Sawyer, Elizabeth, and Katherine West, Ella and Taylor Jacobs; brother, Roger (Jo Ann) Trifthauser of Ft. Meyers, Florida; sister-in-law, Julie Trifthauser of Alabama. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Beverly is reunited in death with her parents; husband, John West; and a brother, Bruce Trifthauser.
There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend Beverly's funeral service on Saturday (January 24, 2026) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 11 Washington Street in Attica. A private burial will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery in Orangeville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
Arrangements for Beverly were entrusted to the care of Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main Street in Attica.
