Bernice West Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lambie Funeral Home - Philadelphia on Feb. 17, 2026.
Bernice Caroline West, a true beacon of love and a guiding star in our lives, passed away on February 15, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA on May 10, 1937, into the loving arms of Bernard and Elizabeth Gerber, Bernice was the embodiment of the words loving, loyal, supportive, and courageous. Her life was a beautiful testament to these qualities, and she shone brightly, illuminating the lives of those around her.

A loving homemaker, Bernice dedicated her life to nurturing her family and friends. She was the rock, the constant in a world of change, her love a steady and unwavering force. Her daughter, Bernice, granddaughter Diana Elizabeth, adopted daughters Barbara, Dawn, and Mayra, and her godson Richard, will remember her for her selfless love and the unwavering support she always provided. Her late husband, Patrick West, whom she loved deeply, surely greeted her with open arms. Bernice was a lady who found joy in the simple things in life, her favorite pastime being seek and find word puzzles which she tackled with the same determination she approached life. Her love for puzzles was a metaphor for her life - putting together pieces to create a beautiful picture.

As we bid farewell to Bernice, we invite you to join us in celebrating her life on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at precisely at 11:15 am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania, 18940.
