Beverly Langford Willis, 64, of Fort Mitchell, Virginia passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025. She was born May 5, 1960 and was the daughter of the late Raymond Wesley Langford, Sr. and the late Arlene Jones Langford.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Paul Claiborne Willis; step-daughter, Amanda Spencer O’Reilly (Sam): sisters, Janet Langford Lawson (David) of Clarksville, Carol Langford Hartsoe of Chase City; brother, Ray Langford, Jr. (Denise) of Red Oak; brothers-in-law, Ricky Willis (Mary) of Rehoboth and Charles Willis of Chase City; and all of her beloved nieces and nephews, Jacob Lawson (Mary), Jessica Barker (Dillan), Cameron Hartsoe, Shirl Hartsoe, Samantha Langford (Gunnar), Jessica Willis, Megan Willis (Brandon), Charlie Willis (Tina), Will Willis-West (Charis), and Kristen Willis. She is also survived by her best friend, Cheryl Shirk; her fur babies, Buster and Fido; and her special neighbors, the Burns family and the Parks family.
Beverly was a United States Navy Veteran. She faithfully served her country for 7 years and received numerous awards including Sailor of the Year. After serving in the Navy, she was employed as a Correctional Officer in Baskerville and then as Criminal Records Clerk for the Department of Corrections in Lunenburg. She was a devoted member of Plantersville United Methodist Church where she served as Treasurer. She was a former member of the Chase City Rescue Squad Auxiliary. Beverly loved her home, gardening, flowers, cutting grass and pulling weeds. She enjoyed traveling and the ocean. Above all else, Beverly loved her husband, her family and her church.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Plantersville United Methodist Church with Pastor Ralph “Red” Moore officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends during a reception at the church.
