Bienvenido Quiles Rivera Jr.

Bienvenido Quiles Rivera Jr., 82, of Aurora, IL, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 6, 1943 in Puerto Rico and raised in Barrio Quebrada, Camuy, Junior was the beloved son of Carmen Rivera and Bienvenido Quiles. A man of strength, humility, and hard work, he built a life grounded in faith and family and married the love of his life Matilde Perez on August 22, 1964 in Aurora, IL. He dedicated many years to Caterpillar, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic before retiring. After his retirement, Junior returned to his roots in Hatillo, Puerto Rico, where he built a home and spent cherished years with his beloved wife Matilde. Later in life, they returned to Aurora to be near their children and grandchildren, the family they so deeply loved and nurtured. Junior was the pillar and foundation of his family, a man whose love, guidance, faith and strength shaped generations. He was a very generous man and known for his kindness, always helping those in need. He always found joy playing dominoes, cheering for the Chicago Bears and White Sox, attending church, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His legacy of love and perseverance will live on through them. He is survived by his five children: Marissa (Mitchell) Yelenosky, Susanna Quiles, Jacqueline (Camille) Evette Quiles, Javier (Damaris) Quiles, and Gabriel (Leticia) Quiles; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his brothers and sisters: Jorge Quiles, William Quiles, José Efraín Quiles, Gloria Nilda Quiles, Sixto Herminio Quiles, Marcelino Quiles, David Quiles, Eda Quiles, Carmen Maritza Quiles, y Bienvenida Ramos. Junior is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Matilde, his parents, 2 brothers, Samuel Serrano, and Héctor Luis Quiles. The family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Spring Lake Cemetery.
