Harold Francis Marcoux of Aurora, IL returned to our heavenly Father on October 12, 2025.

He passed away peacefully with Kathy, his wife of 55 years, by his side.

Harold was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin on July 17,1945. He grew up hunting and fishing and was an excellent marksman, even in his later years. Harold also loved cars, particularly muscle cars. He belonged to a car club that built dragsters and regularly traveled to compete at the Oswego (IL) Drag Raceway.

He also loved to tell stories about his 1968 Chevelle SS, a car he owned in his younger days.

He attended the University of Wisconsin majoring in Analytical Chemistry, served in the US Army Reserves, earned a black belt in Karate and was a member of the American Chemical Society. Harold was granted patents in both the United States and Europe and built a testing laboratory in China.

Harold and Kathy relocated to the Chicagoland area in 1970. Over the years, they established strong community ties and built a large network of friends.

Harold was involved in a number of volunteer activities throughout his life to include youth sports coach, scout leader, church youth group leader, and school board member.

Harold will be remembered for his charismatic personality, strong opinions, and colorful stories. His family will miss sitting in "the chair" in his den, listening to his various tales and viewpoints.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Marcoux; mother, Mae (Tomczyk) Marcoux; brother, James Marcoux; and granddaughter Lillian Rose Marcoux.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Geoffrey); son Patrick (Jane) Marcoux of Oswego; daughter Michelle (Jim) Morrison of Allendale, MI; son Nicholas (Amy) Marcoux of Chanute, KS; son Matthew (Madeline) Marcoux of Aurora; daughter Bethany (Ethan Boulanger) of Aurora; daughter Katelynn (Chris Bentley) of North Aurora; daughter Sarah (Michael) Barry of Aurora; son Mark of Chicago; daughter Emily of Aurora; son Jeffrey (Kalie) Marcoux of Batavia; and son Jacob (Rachel) Marcoux of Aurora. Harold is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17th at Gospel City Church, 8S101 Barnes Rd., Aurora, IL 60506. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00, with a Memorial Service at 6 pm. A die-hard Packers fan, family will be sporting Packer garb in Harold's honor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 2:00pm at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 430 East Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60505.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree in Harold's honor.
