Bill Bird, 77, of Monterey passed away Monday night, August 21, 1989 at Bridgewater Home.
He was born July 8, 1912, a don of Clarence and WIlda (Rexrode) Bird.
He was a member of Green Hill United Methodist Church. Before his illness, he was a carpenter.
Survivors include his widow, Freda Bird of Monterey; daughter, Tammy Hoover of Fairlea, WV; two step-daughters, Dottie Turner of Monterey and Darlene Hise of Staunton; brother, Charlie Bird of Staunton; three sisters, Mildred Gutshall of Monterey, Mary Smith of Hightown and Ruth Hamilton of Mitchelltown; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday in Green Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Norman Compton.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Townsend, Albert and Everett Shultz, George Bird, Stuart Hiner and Glen Halterman.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
