Bill Lee Burbrink, 88, passed away peacefully at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour Thursday, December 12, 2024.
Bill was born in Seymour on January 25, 1936, to the late Theodore and Mary (Sager) Burbrink. On December 30, 1956, he married the love of his life, Mary Jane Meyer, who survives. He was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church and served in leadership positions within. Bill was part owner and president of Progressive Tool & Machine. While living in Jonesville, he was the Fire Chief of the volunteer fire department as well as the Jonesville Town Marshall. In his early years, he enjoyed racing his dirt bike. Bill was an avid bass fisherman and would often enter club tournaments. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with his wife on their Yamaha Touring motorcycle, spending their winters in Lakeland, FL and their summers at Lutheran Lake. He has been described as the modern day "YouTube" with his ability to fix/create almost anything and was always called upon to give instruction and guidance and a helping hand to anyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Left behind to cherish Bill's memory are his wife of 67 years, Mary Jane Meyer Burbrink; children, Julie Oliver (Michael) and Troy Burbrink (Laura); grandchildren, Johnathan Oliver (Victoria), LeAnne Vincent (Ray), Ivey Walker (Ben), Lane Kublanow (Brandon); great grandchildren, Ari Oliver and Jack Oliver.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Glen Burbrink and sister, Betty Tatlock.
Funeral services for Bill will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 609 Mill Street, Jonesville, Indiana. Pastor Matthew Jung will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Bill will be laid to rest immediately following at Jonesville Cemetery.
