Bill King age 79 of Stearns, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on May 9, 1946 in Stearns, Kentucky to the late Austin King and Bernice (Gibson) King. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Tony; a brother, Sam King; and a sister, Doris Jackson.
Surviving family include his wife, Patricia Ann King; sons, Carl Hooker and Tim King; daughters, Tammy, Shonda Saddler, Annette King, and Rachel Doughty; step-children, Jackie Hanson, Barbara Snow, Lisa Atkinson, Sherri Dunar, Gail Snow, and Anita Snow; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Brenda Lobough.
Bill was a Machinist and a pilot for the Civil Air Patrol, where he dedicated over 20+ years of his life. He loved flying planes, attending bluegrass festivals, and chili cookoffs. Bill was also a member of the Orie S. Ware lodge of Stearns, the American Legion Post 115 of Stearns, and enjoyed doing photography as well as videography for DJ's Music Barn. Bill will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Cody Canada officiating. Bill will be laid to rest in the Stearns Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday after 11:00 am until service time. Masonic services will begin at 12:30 pm.
