Bill Martin, a devoted father, partner, and master craftsman, passed away on June 7, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on March 24, 1974, Bill made a lasting impact through both his professional career and personal life. He started Martins Auto Body over 20 years ago, where he was not only an entrepreneur but also a mentor to his family. In 2018, Bill proudly passed the reins of the business to his son, Brett, while remaining engaged as a master painter and mixer, ensuring that his legacy lived on in the work he loved.
Bill was not just defined by his career; he was also a dedicated family man. He cherished his children above all, with Brett, Ryan, Jess, and Alicia being his best friends along with his dog, Loui and his cat, Lucy. The joy he found in their company was evident, and he treasured every moment spent together. Bill enjoyed playing keep away with his grandchildren at the shop. His passion for cars extended beyond work; his greatest joy was restoring old Hondas and building race cars, activities that frequently involved his sons.
Throughout his life, Bill was known for his wit and sarcasm, traits that endeared him to those closest to him. He loved playing pool, watching movies, and often provided the best movie recommendations, a testament to his engaging personality. Family was the heart of Bill's life, and he dedicated the last eight years working alongside Brett, revitalizing cars and creating memories together.
He is survived by his loving sons, Brett William (Alicia) Martin and Ryan David (Jessica) Martin; his parents, Bill Martin Jr. and Carol Sue Schoue; cherished grandchildren, Carter and Cayson Martin; brother, John Schoue; sister, Sharon (Matt McGee) Schoue; cousins, Dave (Erin) Walick and Denny (Alexus) Walick; and he was a loving uncle and cousin with a host of other family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Bill is preceded in death by his grandparents, Emery and Carolyn Walick, who he held dear in his heart. His memory will continue to live on through the many lives he influenced and the love he fostered in his family. A visitation will take place on June 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM, both held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri.
