Bill McGruther Obituary
Born to Raymond and Agnes McGruther, Bill grew up in Clifton, NJ, earned his Master of Science in Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and worked for many years as an engineer at Bell Labs in Holmdel. Athletic and a lover of sports, Bill played college lacrosse, amateur hockey and was a marathon runner; Bill was also a life-long avid NY Rangers and NY Yankees fan.
Bill was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Douglas.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara, and their two sons, Charles and Robert, as well as his brother, Robert.
A gathering to celebrate Bill's life will be held Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 1 to 3pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank.
