William Robert "Bill" Moore passed from this life on August 14, 2024 at the age of 54 as a result of a boating accident. Bill was born in Williamson County, and was raised in Tullahoma. After graduation from Tullahoma High School, he attended The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. In high school he played the trombone, and percussion. While at UTK, Bill was a proud member of The Pride of the Southland drumline. In his own words, he became "A Vol fan for life, without the possibility of parole". From an early age, Bill had a strong interest in computers and technology. He took every class available in school, and signed up for additional classes outside of school. He went on to work as an information technology professional in and around Nashville. Even after spending his days working in IT, Bill was always generous with his free time and his skills, regularly assisting family and friends, and teaching others with his hard-won knowledge. Bill was known for enjoying a good, corny joke, and had a quick wit for injecting humor in to any situation. His particular brand of humor was disarming, and put other people at ease. In his 30s, Bill took up poker along with his father, Don, and uncle, Steve. He remained an avid player until his untimely death, and would tease in a good-natured manner that he loved to "relieve friends of their excess cash". Bill had recently enjoyed professional success. His breadth of experience with myriad IT systems over the years provided the tools he needed to excel as a trouble-shooter and project manager. His colleagues valued him for his skill and easy humor. Bill is survived by his mother, Linda Hunt (Jerry); siblings, Misty Crisp (Steve), Neal Hunt (Jana), and Carrie Boyett (Robert); niece, Amber Albright (Elijah); aunt, Brenda Sons; and life-long friends, James Howard and Chris Crumley. He is preceded in death by his adoptive father, G. Don Moore; his father, Robert Simms; and his aunt and uncle, Steve and Joyce Knight. Visitation for Bill will be held on Sunday, August 18th from 2:00-4:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Bill's memory be made to the American Cancer Society- PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718; or an animal welfare charity of your choice.
