Born March 29, 1940 at rest March 6,2025.
Beloved husband of 63 years to Helen P. (Pat) Phelan (nee O'Malley).
Devoted father of Meg (Tim) McCabe, Tom (Stephanie) Phelan, and Colleen (Tom) Kroning.
Beyond proud Papa of George (Kelly), Will, and Nell McCabe, Timothy (Samantha), Bridgett (Tyler), and Daniel Phelan, and Kelsey and Sam Kroning. Preceded in death by his grandson Brian Phelan and his granddaughter Emily McCabe. Great grandfather of 5.
Son of the late Albert F. (Pat) and Margaret M. Phelan
Cherished big brother of the late Maureen (the late Tom) Dombro, Pat (the late Phil) Wilson, the late Michael (Marge) Phelan, Kathy (Tom) Lipinski, Denis (Judy) Phelan, Richard (Jane) Phelan, and Mark (Judy) Phelan.
Loving brother-in-law to Sandy (the late Chuck) Halper, Margie (Ken) Dziedzic and the late Jim (Janis) O'Malley.
Much loved uncle to many and good friend to all.
Bill was a proud union carpenter and a successful construction supply salesman. He loved good food, gardening, beautiful scenery, Friday night lights football, all things Notre Dame, summer golf, simple pleasures, breakfast with his buddies, card games with friends and above all time with his family. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation at 10am on Wednesday, March 12th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena, IL. Followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment private at a later date.
