He was born February 14, 1936 in Mason City, Iowa to Edward J. Yezek and Cora Mae (Adams) Yezek. After graduating from Mason City High School Bill went on to play baseball and football at what is now called North Iowa Area Community College. He then completed his college education at the University of Iowa.
On September 7, 1957, he married Yvonne Marie Mayer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Osage, Iowa. She survives. They have five children, Scot A. (Mary) Yezek, Stephanie S. (James) Maier, Tracy A. In 1974, Bill moved his family to Peoria and started Bill Yezek Company selling commercial Heating and Air Conditioning. His son, Scot worked by his side then took over the business in 2009. Bill continued on, never completely retiring, coming into the office, sometimes just to pet his beloved BK.
Bill loved to coach his children's sports teams, baseball, softball, and hockey. He has always loved cars. He loved to work on them and drive them. In 1988 he attended a BMW performance driving class and a Midwestern Council of Sports Car Club (MCSCC) driver's school. He and Scot then raced Mazda RX-7's. One of his most proud achievements aside from his children, was winning the class championship in 1992.
