Billie Jean Briggs

Billie Jean Briggs, age 41 passed away on Tuesday October 14, 2025 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. She was born in Lincoln County, the daughter of Becky Phillips Beam and John Austin Beam who survive. She is preceded in death by her brother Jason Huffman, her maternal grandmother Shirley M. Cline, her maternal grandfather Williams Phillips, and her paternal grandfather Harold Gene Beam.
Billie Jean was known for her infectious smile that would light up a room. She loved planning family parties and creating new dishes. She always had several crafting projects that she was working on. She gave so much with her talented projects, her time and her expertise. Her love of her animals stood out so much. She had numerous pets over her short time here on earth, some of which was waiting for her at the rainbow bridge for a joyous reunion. But most of all, her love for her husband, Matthew, was apparent to all. They had a love that was rare and beautiful. She is truly loved and missed by all..
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Matthew Briggs, her brother Chad Huffman, her in laws: Annette and Walter Grimes, Dale and Josie Briggs, her paternal grandmother Reba Daves Beam, her uncle Jimmy Phillips, as well as numerous brother and sister in laws.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday October 26, 2025 in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service on Sunday also at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the American Heart Association.
