Billie Jo Fitzhenry

Billie Jo Fitzhenry, 54, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully in the night, on January 16, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born on February 9, 1970, in Georgia to her loving parents, Billy D. Pirkle and Elizabeth Black. She loved to create in many forms and took great joy in sewing for her grandchildren, baking plenty of special treats throughout the years, and found fulfillment in bringing joy to others and creating memories for loved ones. She found happiness in the beach, visiting its calming beauty when possible; enjoying the pool and the shining sun most days.
Billie's faith in God was the core of her strength and the foundation for her incredible will-power throughout the years. Even in sickness, she spent her time helping others through the New Horizons Worship Center and devoted herself to her faith, which guided her through life's challenges. She lived by the mantra "Faith Over Fear," and found comfort in the love and prayers of her church community.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Doug Fitzhenry; her three children, Avery Fitzhenry, Clara Norris and her husband Chris Norris, Barry Moon and his wife Shaina Moon; her four grandchildren, Maci, Scarlett, Derrick, and Lana Moon; her loving mother, Elizabeth Black; her stepmother, Annette Pirkle; her siblings, Nancy, Sue, Joey, Bobby, Andy, Ashley and Brandi; and her cherished dogs, Scru y, and especially Buster. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy D. Pirkle, her brother, Tommy; and the dog that gave her new-found strength and perspective, Rose.
She led an incredible life as a strong-willed and courageous mother that elevated those around her through her strength. Her passion and kindness uplifted those around her, from the people in her day-to-day life, to her family, which was the center of her world. Her inspiring battle with cancer acts as a reminder of the life she led as a loving wife, mother, and friend, and her unwavering love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
