Billie Carole Cobb Grady, at the age of 69, entered eternal rest Saturday morning, October 22, 2022.
Raised in the town of Mount Olive, she was the daughter of the late Wayland W. "Billy" Cobb and Edna Reaves Cobb. She had attended Lenoir Community College where she studied court reporting, Her career began in Cumberland County, then she transferred to Duplin, and later to Wayne, where she finished her career. Quite a talented lady, she was handy with carpentry, with swine production, as well as arts and crafts. Her years of married life were spent in the Beautancus Community.
Billie Carole is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jerry K. Grady; three children, Kelly Paul Grady and wife, Dominique, of Mount Olive, James Dustin Grady of Mount Olive, and Hayley Carole Grady of Durham; two grandchildren, Joseph Eli Grady and Katy Marie Grady of Mount Olive; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly C. and Tim Clifton of Turkey; a brother and sister-in-law, Dickson "Dickie" W. and Carolyn S. Cobb of Fuquay-Varina; three other sisters-in-law, Brenda Grady of Ashville, Michelle Grady of Faison, and Betty Lou Grady of Mount Olive; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend, Ann D. Stringer of Mount Olive.
There will be a graveside service to honor Billie Carole's life held on Tuesday, October 25, at 2 p.m. at the Summerlin Family Cemetery at Summerlin's Crossroads. Officiating will be Mrs. Jane Woodard, with special music to be provided by Phillis Ostheim. Following the service, the family will greet relatives and friends at the cemetery, and at other times, they will be at the residence.
