Billie Joseph Gregory, 91, of Brazoria, Texas went to be in the arms of the Lord on January 13, 2024. He was born on March 12, 1932, to James Griffin Gregory and Ethyl Maggie Cudd in Yoakum, Texas.
With an illustrious career spanning several decades, Billie dedicated his life to maintaining law and order within the communities he served. As Police Chief, he displayed unwavering commitment and a deep sense of duty towards ensuring the safety and well-being of those under his jurisdiction. His tireless efforts went above and beyond the call of duty as he served selflessly to protect and serve the citizens he cared deeply for.
Billie's journey in law enforcement began after proudly serving his country in the army during the Korean War. This experience instilled in him values of courage, discipline, and dedication that would shape his career as a public servant. The lessons learned during his military service undoubtedly contributed to the exceptional leadership skills that propelled him to become an esteemed Police Chief.
Billie is survived by his wife, Frances Gregory, son Paul Gregory (Cindy) of Brazoria, and Deborah Reese of Clute, several family members, friends, three grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Billie is preceded in death by his parents James Griffin Gregory, Ethyl Maggie Gregory, his first wife Margaret Gregory, 11 brothers and sisters, and sons James Gregory and Joseph Gregory.
As we mourn Billie's passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived—a life dedicated to upholding justice, fostering unity, and making a positive difference in the lives of others. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he impacted and the community he helped shape.
