With profound love, and deep sorrow, the family of Robert W. Lynch Junior announced his passing on February 20, 2026, at the age of 74 in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Robert was born on August 11, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to his parents Bob and Joan Lynch. Robert attended schools in Borger, Texas. He graduated from Borger High School in 1969. After high school, he graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in microbiology.
Somehow, he then made his way from the red dirt of the panhandle and Lubbock to the Gulf Coast, Brazoria County area. Robert made his career at Dow Chemical as a production specialist, where he worked for over 30 years. During those years, he met and married Sally Alford Lynch, where together, they had a devoted partnership that spanned over almost four decades. They had two wonderful children, Amy Elise Lynch and Michael Curran Lynch.
Robert was not only a devoted Christian and husband, but he was also a very dedicated Father. He enjoyed so many things with his family. He especially enjoyed going to the Frio River every year with friends from church. He loved taking kids from the church to Schlitterbahn or camping along the Guadalupe River.
Beyond his family life, he gave back to his community, his church and also Sweeny Christian School that he loved so dearly. Somewhere around the time when the children were little, he discovered a love for golf and carried that passion even until his death. Robert began umpiring Litle League, then high school baseball, as well as, softball, where he even officiated the Little League Softball World Series in 2015 in Portland, Oregon.
Robert's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His humor, his hardworking, yet generous spirit was a blessing to his church, his family and his community.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Linda and his beloved son, Michael. Robert is survived by his daughter, Amy and her husband Donald; brother-in-law Russell Ayers, his grandson Hayes; and although now divorced, his partner and mother of his children, Sally Lynch, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
