Billie Sue (Stacy) Hesselrode
January 4, 1943-September 3, 2025

Billie Hesselrode lived a beautiful life, filled with love and service to others. She touched the lives of so many and left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her. Billie passed from this life on September 3, 2025. She was 82.

Billie was born in Richlands, Virginia on January 4, 1943. Growing up in the mountains of Grundy, Virginia, Billie's early years always stayed with her and shaped her strong sense of community and caring for others. A move to St. Petersburg, Florida in her teenage years introduced her to city life as well as, several years later, a young man stationed at a nearby Air Force base who would become her loving husband for almost 59 years. Billie and Bob married in 1966 and in the coming years made many moves across five states, raised three children, and created countless memories. Billie was the glue that held it all together throughout many of those busy and demanding years of raising a family.

Billie also worked as an administrative professional in a variety of settings, including Harding University and for her children's schools in Houston, Texas. In retirement, Billie found great joy in volunteering in classrooms and shining her sweet light on the children she assisted.

Throughout it all, faith was the foundation of Billie's life. She loved Jesus and others with all her heart. She modeled kindness and a servants' spirit for her family and those around her. She was a woman who worked tirelessly to make sure those around her felt loved and never missed an opportunity to make someone feel special. Her happiest moments were found in simple joys: watering her plants, baking a cake, finding a great bargain, or spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Billie will be remembered for her sweet spirit, her thoughtfulness, her never failing smile, and her unwavering love for her family. She is survived by her husband, Bob Hesselrode, her three children, Stacy Hill (Ian), Shelly Truhe, and Adam Hesselrode (Gena), six grandchildren, Bailey Bogle, Briley Bogle, Davis Hesselrode, Abby Hesselrode, Ethan Hesselrode, and Aubrey Hill, and her nephew, Aaron McMillion (Hannah). She also leaves behind extended family and friends who were touched by her life and her love.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Gladys Stacy, as well as her sister, Joyce McMillion.

All who knew and loved Billie are warmly invited to attend a memorial service and life celebration on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Tusculum church of Christ, (6117 Nolensville Pike, Nashville, TN 37211) at 11:00 am, with visitation from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the following organizations that were dear to Billie's heart: Mission UpReach (www.missionupreach.org/online-giving), Hope for Haiti's Children (www.hopeforhaitischildren.org/donate), or World English Institute (www.worldenglishinstitute.net/donate).
