Funeral services celebrating the life of Billie Ruth Jenkins, 89, of West Monroe, Louisiana and formerly of Bastrop, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 27, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Pastor Tom Lowe officiating. Interment will follow immediately after in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, Louisiana, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
Billie Ruth was born on December 8, 1934, in Meadeville, Mississippi, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 24, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.
She was a natural caregiver for most of her life taking care of her husband, mother, and close friends. She spent many years working at Cherry Ridge Nursing Home and later in life she worked as a dental aid at Dr. Buddy Quinn’s Dental Office. She was a devout Christian woman who attended and was a member of White Avenue Baptist Church of Bastrop. Billie Ruth taught Sunday School, training union, and sang in the choir. She then went on to attend Family Church in West Monroe before becoming homebound with her daughter.
Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husband, Rogers Jenkins; parents, Franklin E. McCaa and Maggie Stokes McCaa; brother, L.E. “Mac” McCaa; and son-in-law, Gary Scott Tullis.
Left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Billie Ruth Jenkins are her children, Mike Jenkins and Lisa Tullis; grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson Melton (Stuart), Brandon Jenkins, Scotty Tullis, and Rachel Jenkins; great grandchildren, Anderson Grace Melton, Anna Dale Melton, Andon Melton, Shyanne, Carson, Rhaniya, Elijah, and Giana.
The pallbearers will be Dr. Stuart Melton, Andon Stuart Melton, Brandon Jenkins, and Scotty Tullis.
