Billie Dean Smith Reavis, 86, passed away on August 26, 2024, in Lampasas, TX.
Billie was born on November 28, 1937, to William H. (Bill) Smith and Winnie Strickland Smith in Pidcoke, TX. She attended school in Pidcoke until the sixth grade, it was that last grade taught at the school house, and she graduated from Gatesville in 1956. Billie then attended college in Tyler, TX, and went on to work for the Atomic Energy Commission and later at Ft. Hood where she retired after 34 years.
Billie met her best friend and love of her life, Decil Ray Reavis, and they were married at the Pidcoke Baptist Church, on December 16, 1961, and were married for 63 years. Billie and Decil made their home in Izoro, TX and after retirement spent many years traveling all over the United States, Alaska and Colorado were two of their favorites. Billie loved playing dominoes and visiting with her friends. She was very active in the Pearl Baptist Church where she was the church clerk for over 30 years and was also a member of the Eastern Star in Copperas Cove.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Bobbie Jean Smith Langford; brother-in-law, Henry Langford; and her mother and father-in-law, Nadyne Toliver Reavis and Cecil Reavis.
She is survived by her husband, Decil Reavis; daughter, Angela Rainwater and husband Jeff of Kempner; daughter, Kathy Selph and husband Danny of Izoro; grandchildren, Tamara Kruppa and husband Michael, Justin Rainwater, Brittany Dame and husband Chaysen, Garrett Selph and wife Autumn; great-grandchildren, Kylee and Kade Kruppa and Poppy Joy Dame.
Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel Lampasas on Monday, September 2, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Graveside services will be held at Pidcoke Cemetery on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 10 am.
