Miss Billie Jo Russell, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home in Seven Points, Texas, and went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2025. She was born on July 18, 1930, in Steele, Alabama, to parents John Thomas Allen and Ollie Maude Brock.

Billie Jo had a zest for life that was evident in everything she did. She had a special love for traveling, often taking trips to Alabama where she would surround herself with family. One of her favorite activities during these visits was heading to Chandler Mountain for tomato picking, a tradition that not only filled her kitchen with fresh produce but also filled her heart with happiness.

Billie Jo's playful spirit shone through in her love for bowling, where she often found herself alongside her husband. Whether knocking down pins or sharing laughs, that time spent together was precious and showed the beauty of their partnership. She also enjoyed the camaraderie of fishing trips with her brothers, finding delight in both the catch and the company.

An avid Atlanta Braves fan, Billie Jo took great pleasure in cheering for her team, often sharing her enthusiasm with friends and family alike. Her joy for life, love of sports, and penchant for seeking adventure made her truly one of a kind. Billie Jo will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Always Accurate Hospice for providing such great care for Billie Jo.

Billie Jo is preceded in death by her father, John T. Allen; her mother, Ollie Maude Allen Buchanan; her husband, Jimmy Russell; brothers, William, John, Tom, JT, Dewey, Kenneth, and Curtis; sisters, Mary Allen, Annie, Eva, Helen Smalley, and Edna V. Nelson.

Billie Jo is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
