Smithfield, NC: Mr. Billy Dan Allen, age 87 of E. Parker Street passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at UNC Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Pastor Eddie White. Burial will follow in the Bethel OFWB Church Cemetery in Four Oaks.
Mr. Allen was born on June 14, 1937 in Johnston County to the late Zeb Daniel and Nannie Temple Allen. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Melba Evans Allen; sister and brother, Betty Allen Price and Michael Wilson Allen. Mr. Allen retired from the Johnston County Department of Social Services. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler around the farm and visiting his barn. Mr. Allen collected antique Farmall tractors and tools. He was willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends. Mr. Allen was a member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield and enjoyed the Men’s Prayer breakfast.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Sue Johnson Allen; daughters, Debbie Jones and husband, Allan of Greensboro and Nancy Allen of Smithfield and Kenneth Hicks of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Hannah Rogers, Adrianna Jones, Molly Sawyer and husband, Chris, Katie Bartlett and husband, Dakota, Chloe Wade, and Jared Jones; great-grandchildren, Link Rogers, Luke Rogers, Elijah Boyd, Amelia Bartlett, Oliver Bartlett, Lottie Wade, Logan Rogers, Damien Sawyer, Lucy Bartlett, Kyle Bartlett, Logan Hicks, Kursten Hicks and Katelyn Bartlett; sister, Gayle Blackmon of Four Oaks; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks.
