Billy Gene Bowdre (1964 – 2024)
Billy Gene Bowdre passed from this life on October 12, 2024, in Bokchito, Oklahoma, surrounded by the people he cherished most. He was born to Elmer Gorge Bowdre and Annie Ruth Bowdre on February 12, 1964, in Denison, Texas.
Billy attended Denison Public schools and came to Bryan County around fourteen years ago from Denison, Texas. Billy was a construction worker for most of his life and was part of the maintenance crew for the Choctaw Casino. Billy loved to spend his time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, and spending time outside. Billy's family described him as a very loving, caring, kind, funny, and all-around wonderful person to be around. The family believes that Bill would tell his loved ones, "There is no reason to cry over me. We will be together again." "Terance, take care of PaPa's cowboy hats." "Peaches, eat my candy corn." "Kinsley, listen to Nana." "I love ya'll!"
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Gorge Bowdre and Annie Ruth Bowdre, brother, Bob Bowdre, sister, Shirley Teawillyer, and Mother-in-law, Sheila Johnson.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of the home, Debbie Bowdre, daughter, Tracy Johnson, son, Emanuel Johnson, brothers, Terry Bowdre and Mike Bowdre, seven grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, family, and loved ones.
A memorial service to honor the life of Billy, will be held on October 16, 2024, at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Reverend Micheal Scott officiating.
