Billy Briggs, Jr., 86, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on February 1, 2026.
Viewing will be available from 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Llano Cemetery with Greg Corona officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Billy was born in Amarillo, Texas on August 22, 1939, to Austa (Hinds) Briggs and Billy Briggs. He attended Amarillo schools and graduated from Tascosa High School. Billy was employed at Pantex for 26 years.
Billy was a happy person who enjoyed golfing, country music, and mall walks. He loved animals, cherished Fourth of July family gatherings, and was surrounded by many friends and neighbors who felt like family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Briggs; sister, Debra Lott Roberts; and nephews, Chad and Troy Salmon.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Keller and husband Rick, of Amarillo, TX; granddaughter, Hannah Broaddus and husband Jacob, of Tustin, CA; grandson, Richard Keller and fiancée Jenise, of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson, Bryce Keller, of Amarillo, TX; sisters, Georgene Lott Salmon, of Amarillo, TX, Jacque Lott Lee, of AZ, Alice Briggs Stewart, of Amarillo, TX, and Betsy Briggs Roberts, of Amarillo, TX; several nieces and nephews; and neighbors that were like family, Jason, Lindsay, Talyn, and Teagn Burkhalter.
