Billy York Brower, a lifelong resident of Randolph County, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, at the age of 97, at Siler City Center. Born on June 29, 1928, Billy was a dedicated and beloved member of his community, known for his unwavering commitment to his family, his farm, and his faith.
Billy devoted his life to farming, operating one of the oldest private businesses in Randolph County, where his hard work and dedication earned him the esteemed recognition of Young Farmer of the Year. His agricultural pursuits were not only his livelihood but also a testament to his deep connection to the land he cherished.
A pillar of the Rehobeth United Methodist Church, Billy was an active member whose faith guided his actions. He served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, demonstrating a profound dedication with over 46 years of perfect attendance. His contributions to the church community enriched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of service and devotion. Billy also served as a Board Member for the First National Bank, where his insights and leadership were highly valued.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Helen Adcock Brower; his parents, George Washington Brower and Emma York Brower; brothers and their spouses, Alfred (Virginia), Jack, Hayworth (Dot), Frank (Sara), Mack (Hilda), and Jim (Ella); sisters, Betty Ann Brower, Jeanette Frazier (Kermit), Mozelle Stout (Wade); and son-in-law, Tony Butcher. Billy's legacy continues through his loving family: daughters Ann Phillips and husband Riley of Siler City, Sue Butcher of High Point, Sherry Daniel and husband Jonathan of Siler City; son, Billy Joe Brower and wife Connie of Ramseur; his cherished grandchildren, Megan Bailey and husband Shea, Stacey Hess and husband Nate, Jenna Stirling, Tyler Butcher, Kelly Brower and husband Ricky, JJ Daniel, Brittany Bristow and husband Eric; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor Billy's memory during a visitation on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Loflin Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Rehobeth United Methodist Church with Pastors Neal Brower and Tim Clements officiating.
Billy York Brower will be remembered as a man of faith, a devoted family member, and a steadfast servant to his community. His life was a blessing, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
